On the afternoon of September 23, 2026, this conference—organized by the Alter Kapitae association—took place, during which the internationalist perspectives of the Academy of Democratic Modernity and “Les Peuples Veulent” were discussed. About thirty people attended the event, which, following a 50-minute presentation, concluded with a 30-minute question-and-answer session.
The presentation addressed the following questions:
1 What makes internationalism a political project, beyond solidarity among countries?
2 How can we conceive of an internationalism that respects local sovereignties while assuming shared global obligations? And how can we decide what to scale back and what to develop, without shifting the costs onto other peoples?
3 In Rojava, how can a collective need be transformed into a reality truly controlled by the residents?
4 How can concrete decisions be made when a local choice threatens the living conditions of another territory?
5 What concrete forms of cooperation could we establish over the next three months to advance an internationalist program of degrowth?
