ILPS calls to action: 16. November – REJECT PAX SILICA! Global Day of Action
On November 16, 2026, US President Trump will visit the Philippines during the ASEAN Summit where he is expected to officially sign the US-Philippines Pax Silica framework, turning the country into a guinea pig for further exploitative deals in other countries under Pax Silica. As the people prepare to oppose this blatant act of imperialist plunder, it is key that ILPS members mobilize en masse around the world to oppose Trump’s visit as part of the broader global opposition to Pax Silica and imperialist war and plunder.
Objectives:
- Popularize the ILPS’ analysis of Pax Silica as worsening economic plunder in the Global South and as part of the US’ war preparations in its inter-imperialist rivalry against China
- Mobilize ILPS members, allies, and the broad masses globally against Pax Silica. Link mobilizations against data centers, mining, and AI in general to Pax Silica and US imperialist plunder
- Strengthen links between ILPS members on the ground and develop synergistic prop via mass engagement of ILPS members creating their own prop
- Illustrate militant, multi-sectoral, and global opposition to Pax Silica and expose its impacts on workers, peasants, women, youth, Indigenous Peoples, the environment, and other oppressed sectors
